iOS Launcher Privacy Policy

Effective 3 November 2026 · Version 1.0.0 ·iOS Launcher

iOS Launcher • com.prodevinfotech.ioslauncher • Effective 3 November 2026 • v1.0.0
iOS Launcher is built to work on your device. There is no account, no cloud sync, no advertising and no analytics SDK. Your installed-app list, app usage, calendar, photos, compass readings and preferences stay on your phone. The only data that leaves it is the coordinate sent to a weather service to fetch your local forecast, plus the standard network metadata of news and weather requests.

Apple disclaimer. iOS Launcher is an independent Android application. It is not affiliated with, associated with, authorized by, endorsed by or in any way officially connected with Apple Inc. or any of its subsidiaries. "iPhone", "iOS", "iPad" and related marks are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Their use here is solely descriptive of the visual style and does not imply endorsement.

1. Overview

iOS Launcher is an Android home-screen replacement (launcher) with a built-in app drawer, torch, digital compass, Today widgets (weather, calendar, battery, Photos, screen time and world clock), calculator shortcut and a Google News reader. This policy explains what the app accesses, what it stores and what — if anything — is sent over the internet.

In short: iOS Launcher stores a few preferences locally, reads the list of launchable apps so it can show them, fetches news headlines when you open the News screen, and requests a local forecast from Open-Meteo when the Today page loads. Nothing is sold, profiled or shared with advertisers.

2. Information iOS Launcher accesses

Installed applications (package visibility)

iOS Launcher declares an intent query for apps that have a launcher activity, so Android shows it the apps that can actually be opened from the home screen. iOS Launcher uses that visibility only to build the app drawer, search results and category filters, and to load each app's icon and label. It does not request the broad QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission.

✓ The installed-app list is processed in memory on the device. It is not stored in a database, uploaded, profiled or shared.

Camera (CAMERA)

The camera permission is used only to switch the device's camera flash on and off for the Torch, Strobe and SOS modes. iOS Launcher does not open the camera, capture photos or record video, and it does not request a microphone permission.

✓ No image, video or audio data is captured, stored or transmitted.

Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION)

Location access is optional and is used by two features:

  • Compass. Your latitude, longitude, altitude and GPS accuracy are shown next to the magnetic heading. This information stays on your device and is never transmitted.
  • Weather widget. If you have granted location access, the Today page reads your device's last known location and sends only the coordinates to Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) to fetch the local temperature and forecast. If you decline, or no fix is available, the widget uses the city that matches your device time zone or a city you choose manually.

Android's Geocoder (provided by Google) may also be used to turn those coordinates into a city name for display. iOS Launcher does not store or log your coordinates, does not build a location history, and does not use location for advertising or profiling. Denying location leaves the launcher and every other tool fully usable.

✓ Coordinates sent for the forecast are used in memory only and are never stored by iOS Launcher, sold or used for advertising.

Internet and network state

Used by two features. The News screen requests public RSS headlines from Google News and loads the article thumbnails those feeds reference. The weather widget requests current conditions and a short forecast from Open-Meteo using the coordinates described above, or the city you selected. Like any web request, these requests disclose your IP address, a standard user-agent string and the requested URL to Google or the publisher hosting the image, and the weather request includes the coordinates.

✓ No account, advertising ID, installed-app list or usage history is attached to those requests.

Photos (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)

The Photos widget on the Today page shows one of your recent photos. It reads image thumbnails from Android's MediaStore and picks one at random from the 60 most recent images it is allowed to see. Tapping the widget opens your gallery app. On Android 14 and newer, the system permission dialog also offers Select photos, so iOS Launcher can see only the images you pick and the rest of your library stays private; you can change that selection from the widget at any time. Photos are read on the device only: they are not copied, uploaded, analysed or stored by iOS Launcher. If you deny access, the widget shows a placeholder.

✓ Photo thumbnails are processed in memory on the device and are never transmitted.

Calendar (READ_CALENDAR)

The Calendar widget reads today's events — title, time and location text — so it can show your schedule on the Today page. Calendar events are read on the device only and are not stored or transmitted.

✓ Calendar events never leave your phone.

Usage access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS)

The Screen Time widget uses Android's Usage Access, which you grant separately in Android Settings, to estimate how long apps have been used today. Usage data is read on the device only and is not stored or transmitted.

✓ App usage is summarised in memory and never leaves your phone.

Bluetooth (BLUETOOTH_CONNECT)

The battery widget checks whether a Bluetooth audio device (headphones or a car kit) is connected so it can show a headphone indicator. iOS Launcher reads only the connection state; it does not read device names, contacts or call history.

✓ Only the Bluetooth connection state is read, on the device.

Uninstall and vibration

REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES lets the app drawer hand an uninstall request to Android's own system uninstaller. VIBRATE provides short haptic feedback for taps. Neither permission exposes personal data.

3. What is stored on your device

iOS Launcher keeps a small set of preferences in Android's private app storage:

  • Onboarding status — whether you have completed the welcome screen.
  • Terms acceptance — whether you accepted the Terms of Use and this policy.
  • Drawer scroll direction — vertical or horizontal, as chosen during setup.
  • World clock cities — the cities you add to the world clock widget.
  • Weather city — the city you choose, or the marker for "current location", so the widget can refresh.
  • Note text — a title and body if you use the note widget.

No location history, photo copies, calendar history, app-usage history, search history, news reading history or installed-app inventory is stored. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling iOS Launcher deletes every preference immediately.

4. What iOS Launcher does not do

  • No user accounts, sign-in, email collection or cloud sync.
  • No advertising SDK, no ad requests and no advertising ID access.
  • No analytics, attribution, crash-reporting or telemetry SDK.
  • No selling or renting of personal data, and no advertising or profiling use of any data.
  • No access to contacts, messages, call logs, files, microphone or health data.
  • No background tracking. iOS Launcher only performs work while it is visible or while Android is drawing the home screen.

5. Third-party services

Google News RSS. The News screen reads public RSS feeds hosted by Google News (news.google.com) and opens article links in your browser. Google and the publisher of an article you open handle that request under their own privacy policies. iOS Launcher does not send them your app list, location or preferences.

Open-Meteo. The weather widget sends the coordinates described above, or the city you selected, to Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) to fetch current conditions and a short forecast. Open-Meteo receives those coordinates, your IP address and a standard user-agent string. iOS Launcher does not send an account, advertising ID, app list or any other identifier, and does not receive or retain a copy of the request. Open-Meteo's own privacy policy applies to its processing.

Android Geocoder (Google). When a city name is needed, Android's Geocoder may receive the coordinates or the text you type into the weather city search. This is a platform service provided by Google, and Google's privacy policy applies.

Google Play. If you installed iOS Launcher from Google Play, Google processes the download and any store-related information under the Google Play Terms of Service and Google's privacy policy.

Apart from these requests, there are no other third-party SDKs, processors or data recipients in the app.

6. Data sharing and security

We do not sell, rent or share personal data for advertising, profiling or any other purpose. The only data sent off your device is:

  • the coordinates or selected city sent to Open-Meteo and, where a city name is needed, to Android's Geocoder, solely to return a forecast or place name for the weather widget; and
  • the IP address, user-agent and URL that any news or image request discloses to Google News or the publisher hosting a thumbnail.

Those recipients process each request to return the content you asked for; iOS Launcher does not receive or retain a copy. All requests use HTTPS. App preferences remain inside Android's sandboxed storage and are protected by the operating system's app-isolation model.

7. Your choices and data deletion

  • Deny or revoke camera access: the torch will not work, but the launcher and every other tool will.
  • Deny or revoke location access: the compass still shows a heading and coordinates stay blank; the weather widget falls back to your time-zone city or a city you choose.
  • Deny photo access: the Photos widget shows a placeholder; nothing else changes.
  • Deny calendar or usage access: those widgets show a setup prompt instead of data.
  • Disable network access: the News screen and the weather widget cannot refresh, but the rest of the app works offline.
  • Delete local data: Android Settings → Apps → iOS Launcher → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app.

Because there is no server account and iOS Launcher does not retain the data it sends for a forecast, there is no remote copy to delete. If you have a question about a request, contact us at the address below.

8. Children's privacy

iOS Launcher is a general-purpose utility intended for users aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children under 13. The News screen displays third-party headlines that may include content intended for adults; we do not control or curate those stories. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a child has used the app, uninstalling it removes every local preference.

9. Changes to this policy

If a future version adds a feature that changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated before that version is released, with a new effective date and version number. The current version is always available at this URL and is linked from the app's welcome screen.
